Sony Pictures released their 2023-2024 theatrical release schedule and announced that a new Karate Kid film was scheduled to open on June 7, 2024. Sony also delayed the Spider-Man universe films Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web.
Kraven the Hunter, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson will now be released on October 6, 2023, and was originally slated for January 2023. Meanwhile, Madame Web will now premiere on February 16, 2024, and was originally aimed for Kraven’s new release in October. An untitled film from Sony’s Marvel universe has also been shifted to July 12, 2024, from June 7. It’s possibly Tom Holland’s next outing as Spider-Man taking place in a reset universe from the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Jon Hurwitz, co-creator of Netflix’s hit series Cobra Kai, took to Twitter and addressed the fact that he, nor other stars or writers, will have anything with the upcoming Karate Kid movie.
